Watchmen
From Die2Nite Wiki
Revision as of 07:39, 14 August 2013 by JannJann101 (talk) (→{{MetaInline|Heavy object|displayname=Heavy Items}})
Out of desperation, citizens during a zombie apocalypse often need to resort to one incredibly effective (yet dangerous) tactic: meat shields. Introduced in Season 6, the Watchmen is a job any citizen can choose to take up (in addition to their profession), be it Hero or
Resident.

Use
- Any
Citizen can join the
Watchmen by selecting to join at the Watchmen tab in town. They will stay on guard as a watchman for
The Attack that night, and then are relieved of their watchman duty.
- The list of Watchmen is cleared daily, after the attack. There are no limits to signing up.
- Watchmen will attempt to block off any zombies that get past the town's defense from the remaining citizens.
- All watchmen begin with a base 95% chance of survival (indicated by the
icon) and block off 10 zombies (indicated by the
icon). They also always risk a 10% chance of
Injury, and another 10% chance of
Terrorisation.
- Certain items placed in their
Inventory,
Status Effects or
Professional tools of
Heroes will affect the chances of survival and the number of zombies a watchman can block off, both positively and negatively.

Nonheavy Items
Notes
- In Season 6:
- in season 7:
- Several bugs related to
Watchmen were fixed, including players rejoining/leaving post, consuming items in their chest, and assembling incomplete items without using resources (such as
Radio Cassette Player (no battery) becoming a
Radio Cassette Player, or
Wonky Shopping Trolley becoming a
Shopping Trolley).
- The
Flatpacked Furniture continues to assemble into an assortment of furniture, however.
- The
- Watchmen status bug was also repaired. During Season 6 statuses changed before attack but with season 7 bug fixes this was changed so that statuses take affect before the attack. This means that
Drunk status will stay on during the attack and is changed to
Hungover after attack.
- Several bugs related to
- If an item is
Broken... it will not increase the number of zombies blocked off.
- If a small enough number of zombies make it through the defenses, it is possible for a dead Watchman to report as such in the Gazette:
-->"[resident] was devoured by 0 zombie(s)!"
