A terrible disease rages inside you... Some sort of plague maybe? The most effective way to combat the sickness is to take the correct drugs... If you do nothing, you have a 50% chance of waking up dead in the morning.

That wound from yesterday has gone nasty. It's oozing and you really don't feel well.

Cause

• Going to bed Wounded Wounded.
• Chance of getting infected when eating a Meaty Bone Meaty Bone or Traveller's corpse Traveller's corpse.
  • Note: If a Hero cooks them in the Kitchen, the cooked dishes will not make you Infected Infected.

Effect

• You have a 50% chance of dying each night in a Small Map or Distant Region! You have a 75% chance of dying each night in a Hardcore Hardcore town! This will earn you a rare Distinction, at least...
  • Dying of infection gives you the Deaths by Infection Deaths by Infection distinction.

Removal

• Using a Paracetoid 7g Paracetoid 7g.
  • The following message will appear: The Paracetoid 7g rapidly takes effect. The fever subsides, your heart starts beating at a a semi-normal rate again... You weren't far away from a horrible death.
  • You will also gain the Drugged Drugged and Immunised Immunised statuses.
• Can be removed by a Shaman Shaman's Healing ability.

Notes

• Identifiable in any citizen's Home Home by the rumor:

was seen coughing up blood a moment ago... Some are talking about an infection.

• If you are Infected Infected and Wounded Wounded, then using a Paracetoid 7g Paracetoid 7g without a Bandage Bandage means you will still be Wounded Wounded, and you will become Infected Infected again after midnight. You must use both on the same day to recover completely.
