The
Shaman is a role chosen randomly by the game on the first night of a town's existence, and each night the current shaman dies. He or she alone can accurately locate
Lost Soul wandering within the
World Beyond. He also practices a variety of ancient healing methods, but they do not always work.
Abilities
- Each day, the
Shaman recieves six special 'Shaman Points' to be used to power his abilities. - Transport as many souls as their inventory allows - other professions are limited to one at a time.
- Locate
Lost Soul in the
World Beyond. The souls are shown on the
Map. - Make it rain: when outside in the
World Beyond (including
Town Gates), and 1 SP, the
Shaman can choose to Make it rain. The use of this ability requires 5 (?) SP.
- If there are zombies within the zone, 3-6 zombies are eliminated.
- If this is done outside the
Town Gates, 5 rations of water is added to
The Well. - The following entry will be registered at the
Registers:
[Shaman] made it rain baby! Thanks to them the well has gained 5 rations of clean water! - Note that there is a chance of failure to make it rain, but still consuming the SP. (unconfirmed estimate 10-20%. Also unconfirmed is if this chance of failure still applies in Season 11.)
- Create a special shamanistic potion that allows others to be able to touch Tortured Souls. Without this, other players will instantly die upon trying to pick up a Tortured Soul. The creation of this potion uses up one Water Ration and one SP.
- The Shaman may heal the following effects at the cost of 1 SP per attempt:
- Note: The attempt may also result in the shaman taking the affliction into his own body. (Unknown chance.)
-
Terrorised
- Successful: There's nothing better than fear to vanquish terror. You remove your Shaman mask and gently blow a home-made hallucinogenic powder onto their face, to induce a sleep-walking state. Your tete-a-tete quickly provokes "pavor nocturnus". When they reawaken [Citizen] seems to have been relieved from their terrorized state.
- Failure: However, simply seeing this citizen in such a state of utter terror has terrorized you.
- Successful: You unsheath your sacred knife and begin to «prepare» following a well-practised sequence of ritualistic movements. The energy flow guides you and without hesitation you make an incision at the base of the infected limb. The decontamination process is underway, albeit slowly.
- Failure: That's impossible... you don't feel anything, no energy, no flow to guide you. The risk of killing [Citizen] is too great.
- Successful: You unsheath your sacred knife and begin to «prepare» following a well-practised sequence of ritualistic movements. The energy flow guides you and without hesitation you make an incision just beside the liver. As a clear liquid leaks from their freshly mutilated body, [Citizen] is freed from the clutches of alcohol.

- The Shaman CANNOT heal the following effects:
- You cannot heal this citizen. Their status either cannot be healed, or someone has already tried to heal them today.
- The Shaman CANNOT heal the following effects:
Information unverified in Season 11
- The Shaman cannot attempt to heal someone when they themselves are
Terrorised.
- The ailment is randomly chosen from all the negative effects on the target.
- It has a chance to fail, or transfer the status relieved to the shaman.
- A citizen can only be healed once a day, even if it fails. Once an attempt is made, all other shamans can no longer heal that person for the day as well. However, the shaman may attempt to heal other players.
Equipment
Notes
