Talk:Dehydrated!

I know some people have said that drinking your water ration for the day means you're okay sleeping thirsty, but I just had someone in town who drank water in the morning, got thirsty after walking around the desert, slept thirsty, and woke up dehydrated. Needs confirmation? Also -- I know Hydratone fixes thirsty (used it myself), but does it fix Dehydrated? --Toriayl 21:50, 1 December 2010 (PST)

I drank water for AP yesterday (and had the Refreshed state), then got the Thirsty state as well by walking around the desert. When I woke up after the zombie dance party, I was still just Thirsty. I'm hoping I get 6 steps in the desert before being dehydrated, so I can drink my ration then.--71.225.20.188 14:55, 14 December 2010 (PST)

My flailing newbie town (no concrete yet, now in day 3; yikes!) happened to have a Hydratone, so I tested it out. I didn't drink yesterday, so I started out today Thirsty. After >10 zones in the desert, I changed to Dehydrated!, which also is how I found out the game has an ! in the status effect name. (I know it was more than ten zones, but I got distracted and didn't notice exactly when it switched; but at 18 zones, I was under Dehydrated!.) Using Hydratone upgraded my Dehydrated! status to Thirsty status, and I then drank a Water Ration which removed the Thirsty status and also restored me to 6 AP. I have also never seen the status degrade overnight (overattack?) when I had been Refreshed the day before, even if I then walked enough to be both Refreshed and Thirsty. I'd think the someone's information above can be chalked up to user error, unless we hear other reports about it. For now, I think it's safe to say if you drink water to get the Refreshed status, your hydration won't downgrade overnight. --Terion 20:45, 13 January 2011 (PST)
