Common Reasons for Theft

  • Scavengers taking food from a builder

Is the above really a common reason for theft? If they are a builder and not a scavenger then it is very likely that they don't leave town in which case they cannot be stolen from. - Odeon 07:15, 6 April 2011 (PDT)

builders new to the game often hoard food, in my current town one builder had two pieces in his chest when the bank was empty. builders usually step outside to generate logs, if they do and have been hoarding food then my coalition takes any food for scavenging. Its not as common as some of the other reasons but usually one or two thefts per town we are in this is the reason. Its also quicker than asking, and usually a message is left. TERRORISED

I HAVE STOLEN FROM ENOUGH HEROS WITH RUDIMETARY ALARM AND HAVE NEVER BEEN TERRORISED BECAUSE OF IT. CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THIS? CarcinoGeneticist 14:11, 1 September 2011 (PDT)

Needs More Testing

On the main article page, it states, "Each attempt has about a 50% chance of being detected, with a entry appearing in the town log whenever a thief is detected." I have done a bit of testing myself, but so far I've only tested this twice. These two times I've stolen went undetected. Both of those two times, I was the only one currently online in my town. It needs more testing, but if this is indeed true, that means the chance of going undetected isn't about 50%, but rather 100% only if no one else is online at the time of the theft. --Axe Hack 05:30, 19 September 2011 (PDT)

I've tested it again with the same condition of "no one else online except you". And once again, I have gone undetected. I will be testing it once again with the same conditions tomorrow just to be sure (if I am able to test it again tomorrow). If my theory is correct, I recommend mentioning that stealing an item will have a 100% chance to go undetected if there is no one else online except you. --Axe Hack 15:46, 19 September 2011 (PDT)

Use this table to record your results, it's more efficient.
