Definition of Trapped
In the
World Beyond, each citizen has two Control Points, while each zombie has one. If the zombies have more total control points than the sum for the humans, the humans have lost control of the zone, and whoever is in the zone is trapped!
Don't Panic
Getting stuck in the World Beyond with zombies can seem scary, but don't panic. It's part of the game, and even the best players get stuck now and again. The most important thing to know is that you have all the time you need until 23:00, which is when
The Attack occurs. Until then, you are not going to get bitten.
Options
When trapped, you still have a few tricks up your sleeve.
Fighting
Yes, they're zombies that can bite you and injure you, but they're also slow creatures with pathetic reaction time. The optimal choice is usually to send some of the undead back to where they belong. Each zombie killed means one less control point for them. Kill enough of them, and you'll be able to regain control of the zone.
- Fighting with a weapon
- If you have a
weapon on you, good! Select the "use" option, and you will lunge at the horde with whatever you have. This action costs nothing except ammunition, or the risk of breaking your melee weapon.
- If you have a
- Fighting without a weapon
- Not a recommended option, but you can choose to fight with your bare hands, at the cost of 1
per attempt, which may be necessary for travelling and returning to town. You won't want to cause yet another problem, would you? - There is about 4%~8% chance of killing just one zombie, but otherwise there are no risks. If successful, you will also earn the
Fights of despair distinction.
- Not a recommended option, but you can choose to fight with your bare hands, at the cost of 1
Call For Help
The second best option, which is to call for help, is to post a thread on the town forum marked as a "call for help" thread. List down the amount of zombies, the co-ordinates and other details, and see if someone will respond and help you take control of the zone.
- If someone responds and arrives, they will provide (at least) 2 control points and perhaps bring a weapon to kill the zombies.
- If nobody arrives, then you will probably have to consider other options.
Fleeing
Usually frowned upon and an unwise choice, but you can choose to flee from the zone, but at the cost of receiving an
injury and possibly an
infection the next day.
Camp
If all else fails, you can also take the risk of camping in the zone for the night, hoping that you can hide yourself from the horde attacking the town, as well as the zombies that have been staring at you since your arrival. Perhaps tomorrow someone will be able to come and rescue you.
- Camping in a zombie-infested zone has reduced chances of survival. Each zombie makes it harder to survive without becoming dinner.
- You can choose to improve the campsite at the cost of 1
, which gives a minor boost to camping survival chances; you can (and should) also choose, preferably after some improvements, to spend 1
finding a tomb for a medium boost in surviving just this night. - If you forgot to save 1
for the final medium boost in surviving chances, then you can simply choose to camp in this zone.
