Control Points are used to determine who,
Citizens or zombies, have control over a zone in the
World Beyond.
Each zombie in a zone generates 1 CP; each human in a zone generates 2. If you are
Terrorised, you generate 0 CP (even if you have any of the following CP boosters). If Human CPs are equal to or more than zombie CPs, humans will control the zone; otherwise, any and all humans are trapped.
There are a number of ways to increase your control points beyond 2, to a maximum of 7:
- The hero profession
Guardian provides a
Riot Shield which provides an extra 2 CP. - The hero skill
Healthy Body provides an extra 1 CP while
Clean. - The hero skill
Brick S**thouse provides an extra 1 CP. - A
Car Door gives an extra 1 CP if carried.
Loss of Control
- If the zone is controlled by humans (their score is higher than that of the zombies) and control is subsequently lost (for example by a player leaving the zone), all the remaining players will be trapped after 30 minutes.
Temporary Control
Temporary control of a zone allows
Citizens to perform actions for a short duration of time, such as leaving the zone without becoming
Wounded, and can be achieved in several ways:
- Using a
Grisly Bomb will grant control of the zone for 40 seconds - Using a
Flash Grenade will grant control of the zone for 5 minutes - Successfully using the
Pre-war Camera will grant control of the zone for 2 minutes/1 minute/30 seconds respectively - Successfully using the
Break Through ability will grant control of the zone for 10 minutes
Notes
- As of Season 4, there was a bug that allowed to generate as many CPs in a zone as necessary to gain control. It involved a pairing of a
Manbag and a
Car Door. If both were carried, clicking on the manbag dropped all the contents of the citizen's rucksack while still not subtracting 1 bonus CP the car door provides. Picking the door back up increased the CP value by one. As you can see, such trick could be repeated a desired amount of times.
- Use of this exploit during the
Clash of the Titans is believed to have forced MotionTwin to fix the problem.
