Action points are needed to carry out many important activities in Die2Nite.
You have a normal maximum of 6. Given that most food and drink replenish 6 AP, the usual practice is therefore to use 6
, eat food, use 6
, drink a
Water Ration, use 6
, use alcohol or drugs. Often, people only eat and drink. If there is no food, people might not eat, and if water levels are low, people may skip drinking for the day.
Restoring AP
- Eating food restores your
to the maximum. - Eating premium food restores your
to the maximum, plus one. This is 7
for a healthy individual, or 6
if they are
Wounded. - Drinking a
Water Ration restores your
to the maximum. - Drinking alcohol restores your
to the maximum. - Drinking
Bloody hot coffee restores 4
, but does not restore your
over its maximum amount. For example, drinking
Bloody hot coffee with 2
left restores you to 6
, but drinking it with 3
left still only restores you to 6. - Taking
Anabolic Steroids restores your
to the maximum. - Taking
Twinoid 500mg restores your
to the maximum, plus 2. This is 8
for a healthy individual. - Taking
Unlabelled Drug or
Betapropine 5mg (expired) has a chance of either restoring your maximum
, or your maximum
plus 1. - Rolling
Dice has a chance of restoring 1
. - Playing with the
Incomplete Deck of Cards has a chance of restoring 1
. - Using the
EMS System (charged) will injure you and restore your
to the injured maximum of 5
. - Heroes can build Siesta Time in their house. Having a nap using this will have a chance of restoring 2
.
Uses for AP
- Upgrading your home. The initial cost (to build a
Tent) is 2
. - Construction. Each player can contribute as much
as desired to the construction of buildings. - Moving around in The World Beyond. It costs 1
to move from zone to zone. - Opening and closing the town gates. It costs 1
to open or close them. - Using a
Repair Kit or
Kwik-Fix. This costs 1
. - Clearing debris from a buried building. It costs 1
to clear one piece of debris from the building. - Fighting zombies barehanded in the World Beyond. It costs 1
per attempt. - Dragging the corpse of a dead citizen out of town. This costs 2
. - Converting materials in the
Workshop. This costs 3
normally, 2
with either the
Factory or the
Hacksaw, and 1
with both the
Factory and
Hacksaw. - Attacking other citizens, in 100+ SP towns. This costs 3
. - Using the
Catapult. This costs 4
. Building the
Upgraded Catapult reduces the
need. - Improving your home as a Hero. Costs vary depending on the improvement and its level.
Free actions not requiring AP
- Collecting your daily Water Ration from the town's Well. If you are able to take an extra ration, this also will not require
to do so. - Estimating the night's zombie attack at the Watchtower.
- Eating/drinking (including alcohol)/taking drugs.
- Combining items (e.g.
Can +
Screwdriver=
Open Can) - Tidying your house and cleaning your clothes.
- Using most weapons.
- Searching an area or building for items, and subsequently autosearching the zone every two hours.
- Stealing from fellow citizens.
- Picking up/dropping items
Notes
- You may only eat, drink, roll the
Dice, play with
Incomplete Deck of Cards, and use Siesta Time once per day. You may use alcohol every other day. Drugs and the
EMS System (charged) can potentially be used again and again in a day {though this is damaging to you, making you
Hooked! from excessive drug use, and the use of a
Bandage is required between each use of the
EMS System (charged).) - Becoming
Wounded will reduce your normal maximum
to 5 instead of 6. All
replenishing items will restore 1 less
as a result. - Generally, an action will only require
if a cost is specified next to the action. If there is no mention of
, it will be free to do.
