Control Points are used to determine who has control over a zone in the World Beyond.
Each zombie in a zone generates 1 CP; each human in a zone generates 2. If you are

If Human CPs are equal to or more than zombie CPs, humans will control the zone; otherwise, any and all humans are trapped. There are a number of ways to increase your control points, to maximum of 7 (Guardian holding a Car Door, with Healthy Body and Brick S**thouse perks):
Be a Guardian
Guardians have an extra 2 CP because of their 
Riot Shield.
Hold a Car Door
Car Door give and extra 1 CP.
Have Healthy Body or Glass Armour
They are both Hero loyalty bonuses. Note that Glass Armour is unconfirmed, but exists in the French version of die2nite. Healthy Body requires the 
Clean Status.
