A somewhat old-fashioned device which stops the gates being opened during the 20 minutes immediately before the attack. The gates still have to be closed manually.

These are the sounds of the Portal Lock Portal Lock. Invented to keep idiots from drunkenly walking out and inadvertently killing everyone, this complex chunk of metal stops the gates from opening! Guaranteed to keep the zombies out as you sleep safe and snug in your hovels.

Use

• Locks the gate so it cannot be opened after 23:40 game time. Handy against idiots and griefers, but make sure that everyone gets inside, since you can't open the gates for them.
• The gates still must be shut manually for the lock to take effect.

Notes

• In Season 3, the Portal Lock no longer provides 2 .
• Building the Portal Lock is frowned upon by most citizens as a waste of materials, especially in the first two or three days. It is recommended to build it only in case of necessity, as in case of griefers.
  • Some recommend not building it at all, however new players may decide to build it anyway.
