Defense. It's what keeps us alive. It's what keeps those horrible flesh-eating zombies out of our town. You can never have too much defense.
What It Does
Defense is needed to keep the town protected from the masses of zombies from wiping out your town. Defense is calculated very basically. 1 defense prevents 1 zombie from entering the town (so if the town has 140 defense and 150 zombies attack that night, then 10 zombies will make it into town). Note: If the town gates are left open during the attack the towns defense means nothing, and all of the zombies will descend upon the town!
Defensive Buildings
There are lots of things to build in your desolate town, each with its own perks and problems. Most of these include providing the town with defense every night. There are two kinds of defense: permanent and temporary.
Permanent Defense
Permanent defense provides the town with defense throughout every attack without being destroyed. Buildings that provide permanent defense include:
Screaming Saws +45
Cannon Mounds +15
Rock Cannon +25
War Mill +10
Automatic Piston Lock +15
Reinforced Gates +5
False Town +245
Watchtower +5
Emergency Supplies +10
Wall Upgrade v1 +10
Barbed Wire +5
Wooden Fencing +20
Great Pit +10 (Town Upgrades provides more defense)
Spiked Pit +25

Old School Traps +25
Not Updated To Season 3
Plate Gun +50

Water Turrets +60 (Town Upgrades provides more defense if there is enough water in the Well)
Automatic Sprinklers +95
Saniflo Macerator +45
Pressure Washer +50
Moat +45
Razor Wall +40
Ramparts +5
Überwall +70
Reinforcing Beams +25
Interior Wall +70
Upgradable Wall +15 (Town Upgrades provides more defense)
Spiked Wall +50
Some defensive objects provide permanent defense for the town, as long as they are in the bank. Their defense value is from 1-2, depending on whether the
Defensive Focus was built or upgraded. These include:
Mattress
Trestle
Sheet Metal
Solid Wooden Board
Järpen Table
Unshaped Concrete Blocks
Old Door
Car Door
Guard Dog
Having a Guardian alive and in town also boosts your town's defense by 5.
Temporary Defense
Temporary defense only lasts for one night, and is destroyed during the nights attack. You can build it again the next night if you want, but it's extremely inefficient. Buildings that provide Temporary Defense include:
Waterminefield +75
Explodage +35
Rubbish Heap +10
Mount Killaman-jaro +50
Guerilla Tactics +45
Baited Trap +45
Emergency Defenses +40
Spike Trap +25

Some defensive objects provide temporary defense for the town. These include:
