Fear is to be expected when confronting daily zombie attacks, while suffering shortages of food, water, and resources. When the fear catches up with you, some people will just not be able to cope...
Cause
- There's a 20% chance you will become terrorised after taking
Unlabelled Drug. - Pulling Your name Written in blood from a
Incomplete Deck of Cards. - During the attack, having the town be breached by zombies and your house attacked by some of the invaders, but surviving (if your house is not attacked you will not become Terrorised).
- Stealing from a chest rigged with a
Rudimentary Alarm.
Effect
- You exert no control points. This means that encountering even one zombie in the World Beyond will cause you to become trapped unless someone comes to save you.
- Attempting to do anything (except campsite improvements) within a zombie controlled zone results in the following message: "If you are gripped by terror, in the desert and surrounded by zombies you can't do anything... You need to find a drug or something else to calm your nerves and get out of this hellhole... At least it is still possible to call for help on the forum..."
- You cannot fight zombies, even with weapons (e.g.
Water Bomb,
Box Cutter, animals). - You cannot flee the zone.
- You cannot eat or drink, or otherwise use anything from your inventory.
- (Heroes only) You cannot use your labradoodle, as this also classes as an item from your inventory.
- You may still use heroic actions such as return, seeker and uppercut, though seeker is useless in this situation due to not being able to use any item you find.
- You cannot fight zombies, even with weapons (e.g.
- When you try to leave a sector, you have a chance of not moving but still having used
. (?) - Messages on the forums and private messages are distorted.
Removal
- Taking a
Valium Shot (also causing you to become
Drugged). - Using a
Pocket Vibrator (charged) (earns distinction). - Smoke using an
Opened packet of Cigarettes in conjuction with a
Box of Matches. - Having a cinema built in town
Notes
- Previously called "Terrified".
- If you are terrorised by the time of a next attack, which again involves zombies clashing with your house' defence, you won't know how many tried to break in. Instead of the usual "Terrorised!!" system message you will get "A frightful night!" instead.
- In season 3 you can get several "Terrorised!!" messages even you are terrorised before the attack. You can also see the exact number of zombies trying to devour you.
"Terrorised!!": OK. We've got good news and bad news. The good news is that despite the best efforts of 17 zombies to devour you, you got through it ! The bad news is that the experience really shook you up, so you are now terrorised by the idea of having to go through that again...
"A frightful night!": You were really sweating last night! You heard them groaning, banging around and yelling outside. Eventually your door gave way and you took refuge under your bed, clutching your remaining possessions, trying not to think about the situation. Then they left... Shaking with fear you eventually came out of your hiding place, grateful that you survived.
